      ALMS Annual Workshop 2019

      What: This year the Alberta Lake Management Society (ALMS) brings our annual workshop to Chestermere Lake! Chestermere Lake is a popular reservoir used for work, recreation, and relaxation. Chestermere Lake also faces many of the challenges experienced by Alberta Lakes - invasive species, development pressures, and more. Presentations confirmed on our agenda include subjects such as winter lakes, citizen science, phosphorus budgets, and more. A detailed agenda will be released closer to the event date. Field Tours: This year we will be visiting a flowering rush site at Chestermere Lake, as well as the Bow Habitat Station and the Harvey Passage! When: Join us for speakers, networking, and learning September 18-19, 2019! This is located on the south east side of the lake and is accessible via Highway 1.  Accomodations:  Accommodations are available in the Town of Chestermere at the Best Western. Or, if you are interested in staying on site, use the information below to organize accommodations with Camp Chestermere. Chestermere Best Western (1-855-606-4410) at $130.49 + tax per night. Book by August 20th 2019. Use Group Booking name Alberta Lake Management Society (ALMS). Camp Chestermere: The conference venue has affordable accommodatiosn including large cabins with washroom facilities or small cabins with bunkbeds.
